Xenogears: Books and Movies

The Foundation's series by Asimov: as you know Xenogears elapses when the planet Earth was abandoned and by then the original human had already traveled and inhabited other planets and Deus was a weapon to combat between wars of planets. This is a clear reference to the saga of the Foundation that it is recommended that you read all the saga since where ends Foundation and Earth after that already comes Xenosaga and then Xenogears.

Books by Nietzsche

                               ----> Beyond Good and Evil
                               ----> Thus Spoke Zarathustra
                               ----> The Gay Science

By something Xenosaga I, II and III as the title mentions these books. The Will to Power is as an introduction to the thought of Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil a critique of the religions, Thus spoke Zarathustra talks about the freedom of every human being and the more important the Gay Science with the Eternal Recurrence's theory where a human (in this case Fei) rebirth many times to make the same or similar mistakes.

Books by Sigmund Freud

                                ----> The Ego and the Id
                                ----> The Interpretation of Dreams

How you may know the bad side of Fei was Id and Id is the part "bad" of all human beings. The Interpretation of Dreams are explained cases that are easily identifiable with Fei and other problems of the characters.

Solaris: A clear reference of Solaris from the city of the game and Solaris from the book. This can be explained by the appearance that is Solaris to be perfect when the reality is otherwise.

Our Inner Conflicts(By Karen Horney): Karen Horney was a follower of Sigmund Freud, thus of psicoanalisis, her speciality was neurosis and personality, in this book she makes examples Dr. Jekyll y Mr. Hyde in problems about personality, similar the case of Fei and ID.

Blade Runner(1997): The droids in Xenosaga are a clear reference to Blade Runner because people think in the movie that robots do not have "empathy", the keyword of the film, in fact robots have feelings in Xenosaga.

Philadelphia Experiment (1984) the name of the ship at the beginning of the game is called the Eldridge reference to the boat for this film because of the magnitude of the accident they suffered as in the game and in the movie.

STAR WARS: the character of graft Xenogears is a clear reference to Dark Vader, apart from that, with the protagonist there is the similar father-son connection.

Soylent Green: A movie about in a distopian future where the poor are food for the middle class, transformed in secret factories like in Xenogears.

Wong Fei Hung movies: There are around 100 movies about this character the most famous ones are performed by Jet Li in Upon a Time in China series.

Hay que tomar en cuenta que Xenosaga por algo son Episodio I, II y III de alli Xenogears son IV y V. El episodio VI nunca se hizo.

La Saga de la Fundación de Asimov: como sabrán Xenogears transcurre cuando el planeta Tierra fue abandonada y para ese entonces los humanos originales ya habían viajado y habitado otros planetas y Deus fue un arma para combatir entre guerras de planetas. Esto es una clara mención a la saga de la Fundación que es recomendable que los leas todas desde Yo Robots hasta donde termina Fundación y Tierra que después de eso ya entra Xenogears.

Libros de Nietzsche

Por algo Xenosaga I, II y III como título menciona estos libros. The Will to Power es como una introducción al pensamiento de Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil una crítica a las religiones, Thus Spoke Zarathustra habla sobre la libertad de todo ser humano y el más importante The Gay Science sobre la eterna recurrencia de la cual gira la vida de Fei que reencarna y reencarna  por un error o suceso que comete en cada nacimiento y esos errores sucesivos son la Eterna Recurrencia aparte que una explicación más detallada y con ejemplos lo encuentras allí.

*El término "corderos" en Xenogears es una clara alusión a Nietzsche que consideraba "corderos" a todos aquellos que seguían las religiones o eran esclavos de ellos justo como pasa con los "corderos" de xenogears.

Libros de Sigmund Freud

The Ego and the Id, como sabrás el lado malo de Fei era Id y Id es la parte "mala" de todos los seres humanos. The Interpretation of Dreams se explican casos de ello que son facilmente identificables con Fei y los demás problemas de los personajes.

Solaris: Una clara alución a Solaris de la ciudad del juego y Solarisla el libro. Esto hace referencia a la ilución o apariencia que es Solaris de ser perfecta cuando la realidad es otra cosa.Y que en el libro aparecen los aliens los cuales controlan el pensamiento y la voluntad del protagonista justo como la élite de Solaris hace con los "corderos".

Our Inner Conflicts(por Karen Horney): Karen Horney fue una seguidora de Sigmund Freud, y por tanto del psicoloanálisis, su especialidad era con los transtornos de personalidad y en este libro cita mucho a Dr. Jekyll y Mr. Hyde. Lo mismo que le pasa a Fei que cambia de personalidad en Id.

Blade Runner(1997): Los androides en Xenosaga son una clara alución a Blade Runner porque se piensa en la película que los robos no poseen "empatía", el palabra clave de la película y es que en realidad poseen sentimientos.

Philadelphia Experiment (1984) el nombre de la nave al principio del juego se llama el Eldridge alución al barco de esta película por la magnitud del accidente que sufrieron como en el juego y aparte que se pensaba perdida hasta el final.

STAR WARS:  Graft el personaje de Xenogears es una clara referencia a Dark Vader, aparte que con el protagonista hay la similitud de padre-hijo.

Total Recall(1990): Como sabrán a medida que avanzamos en Xenogears nos topamos con ciertos mutantes alterados por Solaris, especialmente es Kislev donde Fei estará rodeado de ellos, esto viene de Totall Recall y que justamente tiene como uno de sus temas la memoria humana.

Wedlock(1991):

Esta película tiene la particularidad que en una prisión deciden
encarcelar a los prisioneros con collares-bomba justo como en Kislev de Xenogears ocurre.

Como verán Rico posee uno de esos collares-bomba igual que Fei cuando llegó a esa ciudad por primera vez.


Películas de Wong Fei Hung: Con más de 80 películas las 2 más populares son The Iron Monkey y la saga de The Last Hero of China donde se ven los movimientos clásicos de Fei. Los más famosos son representados por Jet Li en la saga Upon a Time in China.

Soylent Green(1973):

Entre mis películas favoritas muestra como solo los pobres o los "corderos", según en Xenogears, como comida hecha de mismos seres humanos y que solo los ricos o "los solarianos" comen comida real.
